Record

Pick a beat, vibe with it, then hit record.

Use headphones or an external mic — keeps the beat out of your voice input.
Playback Mode

Headphones are the most reliable setup. Room speakers are more social, but they need stronger echo control and are still more fragile for live word detection and transcription.

Microphone Input

Choose the actual mic you want to rap into. If the wrong input is selected, Hero mode can sound muddy or miss your voice completely.

Tip: after plugging in a new mic, hit Refresh once so the browser exposes the correct input labels.

Good for headphones and general use. Keeps some cleanup without going full call-mode.

If an external mic sounds garbled or crushed, switch to Performance. It disables browser call-style cleanup that often wrecks rap vocals.

Mic Check

Record a five-second sample with the selected mic, then play the take back. This is the fastest way to tell whether your setup will actually sound usable in Hero mode.

Input LevelIdle

Rap at performance volume. If the playback comes back muddy or barely audible, this mic path is still not ready for Hero mode.
